Name change of software releases

We are changing how we name our software releases to better explain the differences in functionality. This change means we are moving away from release numberin, derived from dates of releases, and moving to a new format of release which is driven by changes in functionality.

The first release in 2012 which we have just commenced rolling out is called 2.1.1, with the next release called 2.1.2. The '2' in this next release indicates that there is (relatively minor) new functionality in the release. If we then rolled out a release called 2.1.2.1, this fourth number would indicate that the release is purely fixing existing functionality, and no new functionality exists in the release.

Release notes are available in our customer wiki which describes what is changing in each release

First software release of 2012

Upcoming software releases and focus areas

Some of the areas we will be working on in the next couple of software releases include; continuing focus on performance improvemtns, improving system response time, system uptime Amazon MWS support for Amazon.com 7 Amazon.ca, migration of old eBay attribute item specifics to custom item specifics, enhancements to Amazon FBA and the ability to deal with commas in price field for automating European supplier feeds.

In addition we are currently drawing up plans on how we will support Amazon categories in a much better way. once we have completed the planning on this, we will be scheduling this into future releases.

Kind Regards,
